Transmission and receiver apparatus and methods

A receiving method, comprising:

• receiving a time-domain data stream having a frame structure of frames, each frame comprising a number of subframes, wherein each subframe carries sequentially arranged data cells from at least two physical layer pipes and wherein, within a frame, mapping of data cells from the at least two physical layer pipes onto a subframe varies among subframes of the frame;
• de-mapping, using circuitry, the frames of the data stream into the at least two physical layer pipes, in accordance with sequence information for use in determining a size information for use in determining a number of cells for each physical layer pipe arranged within a subframe,
• wherein among the subframes within the frame, the data cells are de-mapped differently into the at two least physical layer pipes.

A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium having stored thereon computer readable instructions, which, when executed by a computer, cause the computer to execute a receiving method, the method comprising:

• receiving a time-domain data stream having a frame structure of frames, each frame comprising a number of subframes, wherein each subframe carries sequentially arranged data cells from at least two physical layer pipes and wherein, within a frame, mapping of data cells from the at least two physical layer pipes onto a subframe varies among subframes of the frame;
• de-mapping, using circuitry, the frames of the data stream into the at least two physical layer pipes, in accordance with sequence information for use in determining a size information for use in determining a number of cells for each physical layer pipe arranged within a subframe,
• wherein among the subframes within the frame, the data cells are de-mapped differently into the at least two physical layer pipes.
