## Abstract

Disclosed in certain embodiments is an ice-phobic coating formulation comprising an elastomer, filler particles, and a cryoprotectant.

## Claims

### Claim 1

An ice-phobic coating formed by curing a solventless coating formulation comprising:
an elastomer;
nanoparticles present in an amount from 1 wt % to 5 wt % based on a total weight of the solventless coating formulation; and
a cryoprotectant present in an amount from 1 wt % to 3 wt % based on the total weight of the solventless coating formulation.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The coating of claim 1, wherein a viscosity of the solventless coating formulation is from 750 cSt to 1,500 cSt.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The coating of claim 1, wherein the elastomer comprises one or more of fluoro-elastomer, fluoro-silicone, or silicone.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The coating of claim 1, wherein the nanoparticles comprise one or more of silica, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), polypropylene, graphene, calcium carbonate, or titanium dioxide.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The coating of claim 1, wherein the nanoparticles comprise silica nanoparticles having an average size from 10 nm to 50 nm.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The coating of claim 1, wherein the cryoprotectant comprises one or more of glycerol, trehalose, dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO), or polyvinyl alcohol (PVA).

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The coating of claim 1, wherein an ice adhesion failure stress of the coating is from 1 kPa to 20 kPa.

### Claim 8

An ice-phobic coating formulation comprising:
an elastomer;
PTFE nanoparticles present from 1 wt % to 5 wt % based on a total weight of the formulation; and
a cryoprotectant present in an amount from 1 wt % to 3 wt % based on the total weight of the formulation.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The formulation of claim 8, wherein the formulation is a solventless curable coating formulation.
