## Abstract

The present invention relates to sobrerol or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, which can promote differentiation of myoblasts to form myotubes, thereby preventing muscle weakness and effectively improving muscle functions. Therefore, the pharmaceutical composition containing the same can be effectively used for preventing or treating muscle weakness related diseases.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A method for treating a subject suffering from muscle weakness-related disease, comprising administering an effective amount of a composition comprising sobrerol or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof to the subject,
wherein the muscle weakness-related disease is age-related sarcopenia.

### Claim 2

A method for increasing muscle strength in a subject suffering from a muscle weakness-related disease, comprising administering an effective amount of a composition comprising sobrerol or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof to the subject,
wherein the muscle weakness-related disease is age-related sarcopenia.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the composition is selected from the group consisting of a pharmaceutical composition, a health functional food, a feed, and a feed additive.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein a concentration of the sobrerol in the composition ranges from 0.01 nM to 1 μM.

### Claim 5 (depends on 2)

The method of claim 2, wherein the composition is selected from the group consisting of a pharmaceutical composition, a health functional food, a feed, and a feed additive.

### Claim 6 (depends on 2)

The method of claim 2, wherein a concentration of the sobrerol in the composition ranges from 0.01 nM to 1 μM.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the administering the composition increases a size of muscle cells in the subject.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the administering the composition increases a weight of muscle cells in the subject.

### Claim 9 (depends on 2)

The method of claim 2, wherein the administering the composition increases a size of muscle cells in the subject.

### Claim 10 (depends on 2)

The method of claim 2, wherein the administering the composition increases a weight of muscle cells in the subject.
