Method and apparatus for assisting terminal in measuring

An apparatus comprising a processor configured to connect with a non-transitory computer readable storage medium, wherein the non-transitory computer readable storage medium stores a program, and when the program is executed by the processor, at least the following operations are performed:

• detecting a discovery reference signal (DRS) sent by a second base station while the apparatus is served by a first base station,
• wherein the DRS comprises identity information of a cell formed by the second base station, frequency information of the second base station, and frequency domain, time domain and sequence information of a radio resource management reference signal (RRM-RS);
• receiving, after detecting the DRS, the RRM-RS sent by the second base station without any intervening communication between the UE and the second base station;
• performing measurement according to the RRM-RS to obtain a measurement result;
• and
• reporting the measurement result to the first base station.

A device for assisting a terminal in measuring, comprising a processor configured to connect with a non-transitory computer readable storage medium, wherein the non-transitory computer readable storage medium stores a program, and when the program is executed by the processor, at least the following operations are performed:

• periodically sending a discovery reference signal (DRS) to the terminal,
• wherein the DRS comprises identity information of a cell formed by the device, frequency information of the device, and frequency domain, time domain and sequence information of a radio resource management reference signal (RRM-RS), and
• wherein the device is a second device sending the DRS to the terminal while the terminal is served by a first device;
• and
• sending the RRM-RS to the terminal without any intervening communication between the terminal and the second device, wherein the RRM-RS is used by the terminal to perform measurement on the second device after detecting the DRS.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium, comprising a program, wherein when the program is executed by a processor, at least the following operations are performed:

• detecting a discovery reference signal (DRS) sent by a second base station while the apparatus is served by a first base station,
• wherein the DRS comprises identity information of a cell formed by the second base station, frequency information of the second base station, and frequency domain, time domain and sequence information of a radio resource management reference signal (RRM-RS);
• receiving, after detecting the DRS, the RRM-RS sent by the second base station without any intervening communication between the UE and the second base station;
• performing measurement according to the RRM-RS to obtain a measurement result;
• and
• reporting the measurement result to the first base station.
