Dynamic spectrum sharing for wireless local area networks

An information handling system, comprising:

• a hardware processor;
• and
• a memory device, the memory device storing instructions, the instructions when executed causing the hardware processor to perform operations, the operations comprising:
• receiving a wireless signal sent from a device;
• first querying a television white space database to identify a television white space channel;
• querying an electronic database after the first querying of the television white space database to identify an indoor position of the device, the electronic database electronically associating signal strengths of wireless signals to indoor positions including a signal strength of the wireless signal sent from the device;
• determining that overlapping wireless local area networks serve the device based on the indoor position, the overlapping wireless local area networks broadcast by multiple access points;
• selecting a Wi-Fi channel that corresponds to a single local area network of the overlapping wireless local area networks, the single local area network broadcast by a single access point of the multiple access points;
• and
• sending a message to the device via the Wi-Fi channel that corresponds to the single local area network broadcast by the single access point, the message directing the device to communicate using the television white space channel.
