Abstract
The two-way communication system comprises a non-invasive and non-implanted system which allows for clear two-way communications. This system is generally comprised of a mouthpiece component, relay component, infrastructure communication device, an optional earpiece component, and an optional system control which may interface with the relay component.

A communication system, comprising:
- an earpiece component removably engageable with or in proximity to an ear of a user, the earpiece component being capable of receiving environmental sound, wherein the earpiece component has zero or more selectable audio processing modes;
- a mouthpiece component removably engageable to one or more teeth of the user, the mouthpiece component having an integrated antenna;
- a microphone;
- a relay component in communication with the mouthpiece component and/or the earpiece component;
- and
- an infrastructure communication device, wherein the relay component is configured to interface between the mouthpiece component and/or the earpiece component and the infrastructure communication device.
A communication system, comprising:
- an earpiece component removably engageable with or in proximity to an ear of a user, the earpiece component being capable of receiving environmental sound, wherein the earpiece component has zero or more selectable audio communications reception modes;
- a mouthpiece component removably engageable to one or more teeth of the user, the mouthpiece component having an integrated antenna;
- a microphone;
- a relay component in communication with the mouthpiece component and/or the earpiece component;
- and
- an infrastructure communication device, wherein the relay component is configured to interface between the mouthpiece component and/or the earpiece component and the infrastructure communication device.
A method of providing two-way communication, comprising:
- providing a two-way communication system comprising:
- an earpiece component removably engageable with or in proximity to an ear of a user, the earpiece component being capable of receiving environmental sound, wherein the earpiece component has zero or more selectable audio processing modes;
- a mouthpiece component removably engageable to one or more teeth of the user;
- a microphone;
- a relay component in communication with the mouthpiece component and/or the earpiece component;
- and
- an infrastructure communication device, wherein the relay component is configured to interface between the mouthpiece component and/or the earpiece component and the infrastructure communication device.
A method of providing two-way communication, comprising:
- providing a two-way communication system comprising:
- an earpiece component removably engageable with or in proximity to an ear of a user, the earpiece component being capable of receiving environmental sound, wherein the earpiece component has zero or more selectable audio communications reception modes;
- a mouthpiece component removably engageable to one or more teeth of the user;
- a microphone;
- a relay component in communication with the mouthpiece component and/or the earpiece component;
- and
- an infrastructure communication device, wherein the relay component is configured to interface between the mouthpiece component and/or the earpiece component and the infrastructure communication device.
A method of providing two-way communication, comprising:
- receiving an environmental sound via an earpiece component which is removably engageable with or in proximity to an ear of a user, wherein the earpiece component has zero or more selectable audio processing modes;
- relaying the environmental sound to a mouthpiece component via a relay component, wherein the mouthpiece component is removably engageable to one or more teeth of the user and further has an integrated antenna;
- vibrationally conducting the environmental sound through the one or more teeth of the user via the mouthpiece component;
- and
- attenuating the environmental sound received by the earpiece component via an infrastructure communication device if the environmental sound exceeds a threshold level, wherein the infrastructure communication device is in communication with the relay component and/or earpiece component.
A method of providing two-way communication, comprising:
- receiving an environmental sound via an earpiece component which is removably engageable with or in proximity to an ear of a user, wherein the earpiece component has zero or more selectable audio processing modes;
- relaying the environmental sound to a mouthpiece component via a relay component, wherein the mouthpiece component is removably engageable to one or more teeth of the user and further has an integrated antenna;
- switching reception of the environmental sound to the mouthpiece component via an infrastructure communication device if the environmental sound exceeds a threshold level, wherein the infrastructure communication device is in communication with the relay component and/or earpiece component;
- and
- vibrationally conducting the environmental sound through the one or more teeth of the user via the mouthpiece component.
