Abstract
A monitoring system has one or more voltage sensors configured integral in a single housing for detecting a voltage of a power cable of a transformer and one or more current sensors integral in the single housing configured for detecting a current in the power cable of a transformer. Further, the monitoring sensor has at least one internal sensor integral with the voltage sensor and the current sensor, the internal sensor configured for detecting operational data corresponding to the distribution transformer and a processor configured to receive operational data indicative of the detected operational value and perform an action based upon the operational data received.
Claims31
A monitoring system, comprising:
- one or more voltage sensors configured integral in a single housing for detecting a voltage of a power cable of a transformer;
- one or more current sensors integral in the single housing configured for detecting a current in the power cable of the transformer;
- at least one internal sensor that is not one of the voltage sensors and is not one of the current, sensors, the internal sensor integral with the voltage sensor and the current sensor, the internal sensor not configured to measure voltage and/or current but configured to collect transformer data indicative of information related to the operation of the transformer and detect an event on the transformer;
- a processor configured to receive, from the at least one internal sensor data indicative of the event, which is not only data indicative of voltage and/or current, the processor further configured to perform an analysis on the data indicative of the event and determine an action to be taken based upon the data indicative of the event.
