Abstract

In embodiments of battery-backed RAM for wearable devices, a mobile device, such as a mobile phone, tablet computer, or other portable device is implemented for wireless connection with a wearable device, such as a smartwatch, exercise tracking device, glasses device, or other wearable device that implements computing technology. The wearable device can store data in battery-backed RAM in the wearable device, and the mobile device can back-up the data with battery-backed RAM in the mobile device when the data is received from the wearable device. A wireless connection can be established for wireless data communication between the wearable device and the mobile device. A data manager can detect a low battery condition of the wearable device, which initiates the data being transferred from the wearable device to the mobile device via the wireless connection.

Dependent claims

An apparatus comprising:

at least one processor;
a wireless interface for establishing a wireless connection with a client device;
memory in electronic communication with the at least one processor;
and
instructions stored in the memory, the instructions being executable by the at least one processor to:
maintain data within a battery-backed random-access memory (RAM) of the apparatus;
identify a condition of the apparatus associated with triggering a backup of data from the battery-backed RAM of the apparatus;
and
in response to identifying the condition of the apparatus associated with triggering the backup of data:
identify a subset of data for backup from the data maintained within the battery-backed RAM of the apparatus;
and
initiate a transfer of the subset of data from the battery-backed RAM of the apparatus to the client device via the wireless connection.

maintaining data within a battery-backed random-access memory (RAM) of an apparatus;
identifying a condition of the apparatus associated with triggering a backup of data from the battery-backed RAM of the apparatus;
establishing, via a wireless interface of the apparatus, a wireless connection with a client device;
and
in response to identifying the condition of the apparatus associated with triggering the backup of data:
identifying a subset of data for backup from the data maintained within the battery-backed RAM of the apparatus;
and
initiating a transfer of the subset of data from the battery-backed RAM of the apparatus over the wireless connection with the client device to the client device via the wireless connection.

maintain data within a battery-backed random-access memory (RAM) of the wearable apparatus;

establish, via a wireless interface of the wearable apparatus, a wireless connection with a client device;
and
