Various embodiments that may generally relate to mobile gaming, location determination, mobile devices, authentication, and so on are described. Various methods are described. Various apparatus are described. Further embodiments are described.
Claims18
An apparatus comprising:
- a memory;
- at least one processor to:
- determine whether a device is located within a jurisdiction where sports wagering is permitted;
- allow a sports wagering session to start on the device based at least partially on the device being located within the jurisdiction where sports wagering is permitted;
- determine a distance between the device and a border of the jurisdiction;
- repeat a location determination of the device after a period of time has expired, wherein a length of the period of time is based on the distance between the device and the border of the jurisdiction;
- and
- permit the sports wagering session to continue on the device, in response to the determination that the device is still located within the jurisdiction where sports wagering is permitted.

A method comprising:
- determining, by at least one processor, whether a device is located within a jurisdiction where sports wagering is permitted;
- allowing, by the at least one processor, a sports wagering session to start on the device based at least partially on the device being located within the jurisdiction where sports wagering is permitted;
- determining, by the at least one processor, a distance between the device and a border of the jurisdiction;
- repeating, by the at least one processor, a location determination of the device after a period of time has expired, wherein a length of the period of time is based on the distance between the device and the border of the jurisdiction;
- and
- permitting, by the at least one processor, the sports wagering session to continue on the device, in response to the determination that the device is still located within the jurisdiction where sports wagering is permitted.
