Claims20
A hollow golf club head comprising:
- a face portion having a club face for striking a ball, and
- a main body extending rearward of the head from the face portion, wherein
- the face portion is made of a low-specific-gravity material having a specific gravity of 4.0 or less, and
- the main body is provided in its face portion side with a low stiffness zone where the stiffness is locally reduced,
- wherein
- the low stiffness zone comprises void portions penetrating the main body from the inside to the outside of the head, and connecting portions each extending in a front-rear direction of the head,
- the void portions and the connecting portions are alternately arranged along a peripheral edge of the club face,
- each of said connecting portions is bent in a V-shape and composed of a first inclined element inclined with respect to the front-rear direction of the head to a first direction, and a second inclined element inclined with respect to the front-rear direction to a second direction opposite to the first direction, and
- the void portions between said connecting portions each have a V-shaped contour shape.
