Abstract
Disclosed is a process for printing on polyester fabric comprising (1) contacting polyester fabric with an aqueous solution comprising (A) 5% to 35% by weight of at least one multivalent cationic salt; (B) 0.1% to 5% by weight of a blocked polyisocyanate crosslinking agent, and (C) 3% to 40% by weight of a waterborne resin, all percentages based on the weight of the aqueous solution; (2) drying the polyester fabric to remove the water from the polyester fabric; and (3) digitally printing the pretreated and coated polyester fabric with a water-based textile ink.

A process for printing on polyester fabric comprising (1) contacting polyester fabric with an aqueous solution comprising (A) 5% to 35% by weight of at least one multivalent cationic salt;
- (B) 0.1% to 5% by weight of a blocked polyisocyanate crosslinking agent, wherein the isocyanate group in the blocked polyisocyanate crosslinking agent is a trifunctional trimethylolpropane (TMP) of toluene diisocyanate (TDI);
- hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI), hydrogenated xylylene diisocyanate (H6XDI), isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI), or dicyclohexylmethane diisocyanate (H12MDI), or a combination thereof, and (C) 3% to 40% by weight of a waterborne resin, all percentages based on the weight of the aqueous solution;
- (2) drying the polyester fabric to remove the water from the polyester fabric;
- and (3) digitally printing the pretreated and coated polyester fabric with a water-based textile ink.
A process for printing on polyester fabric comprising (1) contacting the polyester fabric with an aqueous sodium hydroxide solution or an aqueous sodium carbonate solution;
- (2) rinsing the fabric with water;
- (3) drying the fabric;
- (4) contacting polyester fabric with an aqueous solution comprising (A) 5% to 35% by weight of at least one multivalent cationic salt;
- (B) 0.1% to 5% by weight of a blocked polyisocyanate crosslinking agent, wherein the isocyanate group in the blocked polyisocyanate crosslinking agent is a trifunctional trimethylolpropane (TMP) of toluene diisocyanate (TDI);
- hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI), hydrogenated xylylene diisocyanate (H6XDI), isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI), or dicyclohexylmethane diisocyanate (H12MDI), or a combination thereof, and (C) 3% to 40% by weight of a waterborne resin, all percentages based on the weight of the aqueous solution;
- (5) drying the polyester fabric to remove the water from the polyester fabric;
- and (6) digitally printing the pretreated and coated polyester fabric with a water-based textile ink.
An aqueous solution for the pretreatment of polyester fabrics comprising A) 5% to 35% by weight of at least one multivalent cationic salt;
- (B) 0.1% to 5% by weight of a blocked polyisocyanate crosslinking agent, wherein the isocyanate group in the blocked polyisocyanate crosslinking agent is a trifunctional trimethylolpropane (TMP) of toluene diisocyanate (TDI);
- hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI), hydrogenated xylylene diisocyanate (H6XDI), isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI), or dicyclohexylmethane diisocyanate (H12MDI), or a combination thereof, and (C) 3% to 40% by weight of a waterborne resin, all percentages based on the weight of the aqueous solution.
A concentrated pretreatment solution comprising a mixture of 5 parts to 35 parts by weight of at least one multivalent cationic salt, 0.1 parts to 5 parts by weight a blocked polyisocyanate crosslinking agent, wherein the isocyanate group in the blocked polyisocyanate crosslinking agent is a trifunctional trimethylolpropane (TMP) of toluene diisocyanate (TDI), hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI), hydrogenated xylylene diisocyanate (H6XDI), isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI), or dicyclohexylmethane diisocyanate (H12MDI), or a combination thereof, and 3 parts to 40 parts by weight of a waterborne resin.
