Abstract
A medical device in the form of a nonwoven wound dressing includes rotospun fibers including at least one synthetic and bioabsorbable polymer and at least one hydrophilic and/or tissue-adhesive polymer, and a method of producing the medical device including using rotospinning to produce fibers from a fiber raw material including at least one synthetic and bioabsorbable polymer and at least one hydrophilic and/or tissue-adhesive polymer.
Claims20
A medical device in the form of a nonwoven wound dressing comprising rotospun fibers, wherein the fibers comprise at least two different polymers, namely at least one synthetic and bioabsorbable polymer together with at least one further polymer, which is hydrophilic and/or tissue-adhesive, and wherein the device comprises rotospun fibers comprising mutually different fractions of the at least one synthetic and bioabsorbable polymer and the at least one hydrophilic and/or tissue-adhesive polymer wherein the fraction of the at least one synthetic and bioabsorbable polymer and the at least one hydrophilic and/or tissue-adhesive polymer in the fibers change from a first outer surface of the device in the direction of a second opposite outer surface of the device along a gradient.
