Abstract
A composition is provided which contains a compound represented by Formula (1) below and a polymerizable smectic liquid crystal compound: In Formula (1), R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a C1-C20 alkyl group; R2 through R4 each independently represent a C1-C4 alkyl group; n, p, and q are each independently an integer of 0 to 2; and R5 is (i) a nitrogen-containing saturated heterocyclic group which is a 6-membered ring and in which N is bonded to a phenylene group, or (ii) a group in which N is bonded to at least one C1-C10 alkyl group.
Claims14
A composition comprising:
- a compound represented by Formula (1′) below;
- and
- a polymerizable smectic liquid crystal compound,
- where:
- R1 represents a C1-C10 alkyl group which can have a halogen atom, a C1-C10 acyl group which can have a halogen atom, a C2-C10 alkoxycarbonyl group which can have a halogen atom, a C1-C10 acyloxy group which can have a halogen atom, or —N(R10)(R11);
- R10 represents a C1-C20 acyl group, a C1-C20 alkylsulfonyl group, or a C6-C20 arylsulfonyl group;
- R11 represents a hydrogen atom or a C1-C20 alkyl group;
- R10 and R11 can bond to each other, and form, with a nitrogen atom to which R10 and R11 bond, a ring including —N—CO— or —N—SO2—;
- at least one hydrogen atom of any of the alkyl group, the acyl group, the alkoxycarbonyl group, the acyloxy group, the alkylsulfonyl group, and the arylsulfonyl group can be substituted by a halogen atom, a hydroxy group, an unsubstituted amino group, or a substituted amino group;
- —O— or —NR20— can be inserted between carbon atoms of the alkyl group;
- R20 represents a hydrogen atom or a C1-C20 alkyl group;
- R5 is a group selected from the following groups:
- where:
- m is an integer from 0 to 10;
- and
- in a case where there are two m in the same group, the two m have the same value or differing values.
