Abstract
Disclosed herein are N-aminated variants of Gramicidin S and methods of using the same for treating infections in a subject.
Claims20
A method of treating an infection comprising administering to a subject in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of a compound of formula (I),
- or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, wherein
- R1, R2, R3, and R4 are each independently selected from hydrogen or —NH2;
- wherein at least one of R1, R2, R3, and R4 is —NH2;
- and
- wherein the infection is
- a fungal infection caused by Aspergillus, Candida, Coccidioides, Cryptococcus gatti, Pneumocystis jirovecii, Blastomyces, Cryptoccocus neoformans, Histoplasma, or Talaromyce, or a combination thereof;
- a gram-positive bacterial infection caused by Actinomyces spp.;
- Aerococcus spp.;
- Bacillus spp.;
- Bacterionema spp.;
- Bifidobacterium spp.;
- Clostridium spp.;
- Corynebacterium spp.;
- Corprococcus spp.;
- Deinobacter spp.;
- Deinococcus spp.;
