A Myceliophthora thermophila filamentous fungal cell comprising at least one endogenous amp protease having no protease activity and a recombinant polynucleotide encoding a mammalian polypeptide, wherein a gene encoding an endogenous amp protease of SEQ ID NO:
- 767, 774 or 780 of the Myceliophthora thermophila filamentous fungal cell comprises a mutation that eliminates the activity of the endogenous amp protease.
