Abstract
Calprotectin inhibitors and derivatives thereof, and methods of using them for inhibiting or reducing metastatis and treating cancer are provided. The pharmaceutical formulations prepared from the compounds can be used in the treatment of cancer either as a single agent or in combination with at least one other cancer therapeutic, chemotherapeutic or anti-cancer agent.

A method for inhibiting or reducing cancer cell metastasis in a subject in need thereof comprising administering to the subject a composition comprising at least one calprotectin inhibitor, in an amount effective to inhibit or reduce cancer cell metastasis, and a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient.
A method for reducing tumor size or tumor burden in a subject in need thereof, comprising administering to the subject an effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition containing a calprotectin inhibitor.
A method for inhibiting or reducing breast cancer cell metastasis in a subject in need thereof comprising administering to the subject a composition comprising at least one calprotectin inhibitor, in an amount effective to inhibit or reduce cancer cell metastasis, and a pharmaceutically acceptable excipient.
