Abstract
The invention relates to a new method of determining the presence, absence, number or position(s) of one or more post-translational modifications in a peptide, polypeptide or protein. The invention uses transmembrane pores.
Claims20
A method for determining the number or position(s) of one or more post-translational modifications (PTMs) in a peptide, polypeptide or protein, the method comprising:
- (a) contacting the peptide, polypeptide or protein with a transmembrane pore such that the peptide, polypeptide or protein moves through the pore;
- and
- (b) taking one or more current measurements as the peptide, polypeptide or protein moves with respect to the pore and thereby determining the number or position(s) of one or more PTMs in the peptide, polypeptide or protein;
- wherein the peptide, polypeptide or protein is attached to an oligonucleotide.
