Abstract
A non-pneumatic tire includes an inner ring having an axis of rotation, a deformable outer ring, and a web extending between the inner ring and the deformable outer ring. The tire further includes a pair of sidewalls disposed at opposite ends of the non-pneumatic tire and covering the web.
Claims12
A non-pneumatic tire for a vehicle wheel, comprising:
- a tread configured to come into contact with a road surface;
- the vehicle wheel connected to an axle of a vehicle;
- inside and outside annular bands disposed between the tread and the rim part, the outside annular band being spaced radially outward from the inside annular band;
- a spoke member comprising:
- supports disposed in a predetermined pattern and configured to connect the inside and outside annular bands, and
- openings defined by the supports;
- and
- a pair of sidewalls disposed at both ends of the tire in a widthwise direction of the tire, and configured to prevent foreign substances from infiltrating into the openings of the spoke member, each of the sidewalls extending radially from the inside annular band to the outside annular band and closing the openings at a respective end of the tire, wherein the sidewalls are made of a same material as the spoke member and integrated with the spoke member, and wherein the sidewalls define an exterior surface of the tire.

A non-pneumatic tire comprising:
- an inner ring having an axis of rotation;
- a deformable outer ring;
- a web extending between the inner ring and the deformable outer ring, wherein the web defines a plurality of openings;
- and
- a pair of sidewalls disposed at opposite ends of the non-pneumatic tire, the sidewalls defining an exterior surface of the non-pneumatic tire and covering the web to close the openings at a respective end of the non-pneumatic tire, each of the sidewalls extending radially from the inner ring to the outer ring.
