DRX for narrowband transmissions

An apparatus for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE), comprising:

• means for determining a discontinuous reception (DRX) ON duration;
• means for determining a set of subframes carrying a plurality of narrowband physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) candidates, the set of subframes including a plurality of subframes;
• means for determining that the DRX ON duration at least partially overlaps with the set of subframes, wherein the subframes of the plurality of narrowband PDCCH candidates partially fall outside of the DRX ON duration;
• and
• means for decoding a first narrowband PDCCH candidate in the plurality of narrowband PDCCH candidates when the first narrowband PDCCH candidate is within the DRX ON duration.

An apparatus for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE), comprising:

• a memory;
• and
• at least one processor coupled to the memory and configured to:
• determine a discontinuous reception (DRX) ON duration;
• determine a set of subframes carrying a plurality of narrowband physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) candidates, the set of subframes including a plurality of subframes;
• determine that the DRX ON duration at least partially overlaps with the set of subframes, wherein the subframes of the plurality of narrowband PDCCH candidates partially fall outside of the DRX ON duration;
• and
• decode a first narrowband PDCCH candidate in the plurality of narrowband PDCCH candidates when the first narrowband PDCCH candidate is within the DRX ON duration.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing computer executable code for wireless communication at a user equipment (UE), the code when executed by a processor causes the processor to:

• determine a discontinuous reception (DRX) ON duration;
• determine a set of subframes carrying a plurality of narrowband physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) candidates, the set of subframes including a plurality of subframes;
• determine that the DRX ON duration at least partially overlaps with the set of subframes, wherein the subframes of the plurality of narrowband PDCCH candidates partially fall outside of the DRX ON duration;
• and
• decoding a first narrowband PDCCH candidate in the plurality of narrowband PDCCH candidates when the first narrowband PDCCH candidate is within the DRX ON duration.
