Transfering soft tokens from one mobile device to another

A system comprising:

• a non-transitory storage device having embodied therein instructions representing a soft token transfer system;
• and
• one or more processors coupled to the non-transitory storage device and operable to execute the soft token transfer system to perform a method comprising:
• receiving from a mobile soft token application running on a first mobile device, a token transfer request (TTR) requesting transfer of a soft token stored on the first mobile device to a second mobile device;
• generating a transfer activation code (TAC) responsive to receipt of token data associated with the soft token from the first mobile device, wherein the token data includes an encrypted token seed bound to the first mobile device;
• causing the TAC to be delivered to a user of the first mobile device;
• creating unbound token data associated with the soft token by unbinding the encrypted token seed from the first mobile device;
• responsive to receipt of the TAC from the second mobile device, transferring the unbound token data to the second mobile device via a mobile soft token application running on the second mobile device.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium embodying a set of instructions, which when executed by one or more processors of one or more computer systems, causes the one or more processors to perform a method comprising:

• receiving from a mobile soft token application running on a first mobile device, a token transfer request (TTR) requesting transfer of a soft token stored on the first mobile device to a second mobile device;
• generating a transfer activation code (TAC) responsive to receipt of token data associated with the soft token from the first mobile device, wherein the token data includes an encrypted token seed bound to the first mobile device;
• causing the TAC to be delivered to a user of the first mobile device;
• creating unbound token data associated with the soft token by unbinding the encrypted token seed from the first mobile device;
• responsive to receipt of the TAC from the second mobile device, transferring the unbound token data to the second mobile device via a mobile soft token application running on the second mobile device.
