Abstract

A method for decoding a multilayer video signal, according to the present invention, is characterized by: selecting candidate reference pictures for a current picture from among corresponding pictures in one or more reference layers by using either a maximum temporal level indicator for a current layer or a temporal level identifier for the current picture belonging to the current layer; inducing the number of active reference layer pictures for the current picture on the basis of the number of the candidate reference pictures; obtaining a reference layer identifier on the basis of the number of the active reference layer pictures; determining an active reference picture for use in the interlayer prediction of the current picture by using the reference layer identifier; and performing interlayer prediction on the current picture by using the active reference picture.

Dependent claims

A method for decoding a multi-layer video signal, the method comprising:

determining, from a corresponding picture of at least one reference layer, a candidate reference picture for a current picture by using a maximum temporal indicator relating to a current layer, sublayer number information relating to the reference layer and a temporal ID of the corresponding picture, wherein the candidate reference picture refers to a candidate available for inter-layer prediction of the current picture and is used to derive a number of active reference picture,
wherein when a temporal ID of the corresponding picture is smaller than or equal to the sublayer number information and the temporal ID of the corresponding picture is smaller than the maximum temporal indicator, the corresponding picture of reference layer is selected to be the candidate reference picture of the current picture, and
wherein when the temporal ID of the corresponding picture is smaller than or equal to the sublayer number information and the temporal ID of the corresponding picture is zero, the corresponding picture of reference layer is selected to be the candidate reference picture of the current picture;
deriving the number of active reference picture for the current picture based on a number of candidate reference picture, wherein when the number of candidate reference picture is 0, the number of the active reference picture for the current picture is set equal to 0, and wherein when the number of candidate reference picture is not 0, the number of the active reference picture for the current picture is derived based on an all active flag, the all active flag indicating whether a constraint that all of candidate reference pictures of the current picture are used for inter-layer prediction of the current picture is applied;
acquiring a reference layer ID based on the derived number of the active reference picture;
determining, based on the reference layer ID, an active reference picture to be used for inter-layer prediction of the current picture;
and
performing the inter-layer prediction for the current picture using the active reference picture.

An apparatus for decoding a multi-layer video signal, the apparatus comprising:

a predictor is configured to determine, from a corresponding picture of at least one reference layer, a candidate reference picture for a current picture by using a maximum temporal indicator relating to a current layer, sublayer number information relating to the reference layer and a temporal ID of the corresponding picture, wherein the candidate reference picture refers to a candidate available for inter-layer prediction of the current picture and is used to derive a number of active reference picture,
wherein when a temporal ID of the corresponding picture is smaller than or equal to the sublayer number information and the temporal ID of the corresponding picture is smaller than the maximum temporal indicator, the corresponding picture of reference layer is selected to be the candidate reference picture of the current picture, and
wherein when the temporal ID of the corresponding picture is smaller than or equal to the sublayer number information and the temporal ID of the corresponding picture is zero, the corresponding picture of reference layer is selected to be the candidate reference picture of the current picture;
derive the number of active reference picture for the current picture based on a number of candidate reference picture, wherein the predictor is configured to set the number of the active reference picture for the current picture to be equal to 0 when the number of candidate reference picture is 0, and derive the number of the active reference picture for the current picture based on an all active flag when the number of candidate reference picture is not 0, the all active flag indicating whether a constraint that all of candidate reference pictures of the current picture are used for inter-layer prediction of the current picture is applied;
acquire a reference layer ID based on the derived number of the active reference picture,
determine, based on the reference layer ID, an active reference picture to be used for inter-layer prediction of the current picture, and
perform the inter-layer prediction for the current picture using the active reference picture.

deriving the number of active reference picture for the current picture based on a number of candidate reference picture, wherein when the number of candidate reference picture is 0, the number of the active reference picture for the current picture is set equal to 0, and wherein when the number of candidate reference picture is not 0, the number of the active reference picture for the current picture is derived based on an all active flag, the all active flag indicating whether a constraint that all of candidate reference pictures of the current picture are used for inter-layer prediction of the current picture is applied;
acquiring a reference layer ID based on the determined number of the active reference picture;
determining, based on the reference layer ID, an active reference picture to be used for inter-layer prediction of the current picture;
and
performing the inter-layer prediction for the current picture using the active reference picture.

derive the number of active reference picture for the current picture based on a number of candidate reference picture, wherein the predictor is configured to set the number of the active reference picture for the current picture to be equal to 0 when the number of candidate reference picture is 0, and derive the number of the active reference picture for the current picture based on an all active flag when the number of candidate reference picture is not 0, the all active flag indicating whether a constraint that all of candidate reference pictures of the current picture are used for inter-layer prediction of the current picture is applied;
acquire a reference layer ID based on the derived number of the active reference picture,
determine, based on the reference layer ID, an active reference picture to be used for inter-layer prediction of the current picture, and
perform the inter-layer prediction for the current picture using the active reference picture.
