Abstract
A collision resistant blockchain network is disclosed that includes a network formed of a plurality of nodes and a collision resistant blockchain formed of a plurality of blocks redundantly stored across the nodes of the network. Each block of the collision resistant blockchain contains data. Each block also contains a forward blockchain hash digest formed from hashing the data front-to-back and a reverse blockchain hash digest formed from hashing the data back-to-front, whereby collisions that occur when two different sets of data are hashed front-to-back do not reoccur when those two different sets of data are also hashed back-to-front, thereby distinguishing the two different sets of data.
Claims20
A non-transitory computer tangible medium containing instructions for executing a collision resistant blockchain, comprising:
- a plurality of blockchain blocks that are linked together by a plurality of collision resistant blockchain hash digest pairs stored within the blockchain blocks to form a collision resistant blockchain, wherein each collision resistant blockchain hash digest pair includes a forward blockchain hash digest formed from reading blockchain block message data into a hash processor front-to-back and a reverse blockchain hash digest formed from reading the same blockchain block message data into the hash processor back-to-front, whereby collisions that occur when two different sets of message data are read into the hash processor front-to-back do not reoccur when those two different sets of message data are also read into the hash processor back-to-front, thereby distinguishing the two different sets of message data.
A non-transitory computer tangible medium containing instructions for executing a collision resistant blockchain process for message data, comprising:
- generating a forward blockchain hash digest based on stored message data with a processor by reading the message data into the processor front-to-back;
- generating a reverse blockchain hash digest based on the message data with the processor by reading the message data into the processor back-to-front;
- and
- storing both the forward blockchain hash digest and the reverse blockchain hash digest together as a collision resistant blockchain hash digest pair along with the message data in a block of a collision resistant blockchain, whereby collisions that occur when two different sets of message data are read into the processor for hashing front-to-back do not reoccur when those two different sets of message data are also read into the processor for hashing back-to-front, thereby distinguishing the two different sets of message data.
A non-transitory computer tangible medium containing instructions for executing a collision resistant blockchain, comprising:
- a plurality of blockchain blocks that are all linked together by a plurality of collision resistant blockchain hash digest pairs stored within the blockchain blocks to form a collision resistant blockchain, wherein each collision resistant blockchain hash digest pair includes two different hash digests that are both formed using a common hash algorithm on a common set of blockchain block message data by reading that common set of blockchain block message data into a hash processor for processing by the hash algorithm in different orders, whereby collisions that occur when two different sets of blockchain block message data are hashed by reading them into the hash processor for hashing by the hash algorithm in one order do not reoccur when those two different sets of blockchain block message data are also read into the hash processor for processing by the hash algorithm in a different order, thereby distinguishing the two different sets of blockchain block message data.
