Abstract
Methods and devices are provided to recover a robust management channel (RMC) in a first communication direction using a robust management channel recovery message (RMCR) sent via the RMC in a second communication direction.
Claims28
A transceiver, comprising:
- a receiver circuit configured to receive a robust management channel restoration (RMCR) command via a robust management channel (RMC) in a second communication direction from another transceiver to the transceiver;
- and
- a transmitter circuit configured to restore a failed RMC in a first communication direction from the transceiver to the another transceiver based on the RMCR command.
A transceiver, comprising:
- a receiver circuit configured to detect a failure of at least a robust management channel (RMC) in a first communication direction from a further transceiver to the transceiver, and
- a transmitter circuit configured to transmit a robust management channel restoration (RMCR) command via a robust management channel in a second communication direction from the transceiver to the further transceiver in response to detecting the failure and enable the further transceiver to restore the RMC in the first communication direction based on the RMCR command.
