Codebook-based uplink transmission in wireless communications

A method of codebook-based uplink transmissions in wireless communications, comprising:

• receiving, by a processor of a user equipment (UE), signaling from a network node of a wireless network, the signaling comprising an index identifying a permutation among a plurality of permutations with respect to a mapping between a plurality of sounding reference signal (SRS) resources and a plurality of antenna ports at the UE;
• and
• performing, by the processor, an uplink transmission of data to the network node using one or more SRS resources of the plurality of SRS resources and one or more antenna ports of the plurality of antenna ports according to the identified permutation,
• wherein the plurality of antenna ports are fixedly mapped to the plurality of SRS resources for the subsequent uplink transmission using the codebook,
• wherein the further signaling comprises a precoding matrix indicator (PMI), and
• wherein the one of the plurality of permutations is an integral part of in a PMI definition with respect to the PMI.
