Tracing engine-based software loop escape analysis and mixed differentiation evaluation

A system for loop escape analysis, comprising:

• a storage medium comprising a set of executable computer instructions;
• and
• a processor configured to execute operations comprising:
• analyzing the computer instructions to determine a loop;
• analyzing the computer instructions to determine at least one new variable in the loop;
• storing, in a data structure, at least one of an operation related to the variable or a value related to the variable;
• determining an escaping variable by comparing the variables stored in the data structure with variables included in the computer instructions;
• determining a number of inputs to the loop associated with the data structure, storage space that would be saved by compressing the data structure, and the size of new elements required to compress the data structure;
• upon reaching the end of the loop, determining whether to compress the data structure, based on the determined escaping variable and comparing the size of the new elements and the saved storage space, and
• based on the determination, compressing the data structure by replacing the variable or the value in the loop with a single operation for each escape variable.

A tangible, non-transitory computer-readable medium comprising computer instructions for loop escape analysis, the instructions executable by at least one computer processor to perform a method comprising:

• receiving a set of executable computer instructions stored on a storage medium;
• analyzing the computer instructions to determine a loop;
• analyzing the computer instructions to determine at least one new variable in the loop;
• storing, in a data structure, at least one of an operation related to the variable or a value related to the variable;
• determining an escaping variable by comparing the variables stored in the data structure with variables included in the computer instructions;
• determining a number of inputs to the loop associated with the data structure, storage space that would be saved by compressing the data structure, and the size of new elements required to compress the data structure;
• upon reaching the end of the loop, determining whether to compress the data structure based on the determined escaping variable and comparing the size of the new elements and the saved storage space, and
• based on the determination, compressing the data structure by replacing the variable or the value in the loop with a single operation for each escape variable.
