Abstract
A magnetic material includes a structure in which a first magnetic layer 1 and a second magnetic layer 2 are stacked such that each layer is formed at least partially in a stacking direction by substantially one atomic layer. The first magnetic layer contains Co as a principal component. The second magnetic layer includes at least Ni. The magnetic material has magnetic anisotropy in the stacking direction. Preferably, an atomic arrangement within a film surface of the first magnetic layer and the second magnetic layer has six-fold symmetry.
Claims21
A magnetic material, comprising:
- a plurality of first magnetic layers, each of the plurality of first magnetic layers containing Co, and having a thickness of 0.25 nm;
- and
- a plurality of second magnetic layers, each of the plurality of second magnetic layers containing Ni, and having a thickness of 0.2 nm, each of the first magnetic layers and each of the second magnetic layers being alternately disposed in a thickness direction perpendicular to a layer surface,
- the magnetic material having magnetic anisotropy in a direction perpendicular to the layer surface.
