Abstract
A method can include receiving information that includes well trajectory information, wellsite equipment information and driller information; based at least in part on the information, determining a level of detail of human executable well plan instructions; based at least in part on the information, generating a well plan where the well plan includes human executable well plan instructions based on the determined level of detail; and outputting the well plan.
Claims20
A method comprising:
- receiving information that comprises well trajectory information for a well trajectory, wellsite equipment information for wellsite equipment and driller information for a human driller, wherein the wellsite equipment information specifies capabilities of the wellsite equipment to perform specific activities with respect to time, and wherein the driller information specifies capabilities of the human driller to perform specific activities with respect to time;
- based at least in part on the specified capabilities of the wellsite equipment and the specified capabilities of the human driller, determining activities for machine control via the wellsite equipment and activities for human driller control via the human driller, wherein the determining determines a level of detail of human executable well plan instructions for the human driller with respect to time that increases likelihood of execution by the human driller;
- based at least in part on the information, generating a well plan for drilling at least a portion of a wellbore according to the well trajectory in a period of time wherein the well plan comprises machine control well plan instructions for the activities for machine control via the wellsite equipment with respect to time and human executable well plan instructions for the activities for human driller control via the human driller with respect to time based on the determined level of detail;
- and
- outputting the well plan, wherein the well plan increases likelihood of success of performing the activities for machine control via the wellsite equipment and the activities for human driller control via the human driller.
A system comprising:
- one or more processors;
- memory operatively coupled to the one or more processors;
- processor-executable instructions stored in the memory and executable by at least one of the processors to instruct the system to
- receive information that comprises well trajectory information for a well trajectory, wellsite equipment information for wellsite equipment and driller information for a human driller, wherein the wellsite equipment information specifies capabilities of the wellsite equipment to perform specific activities with respect to time, and wherein the driller information specifies capabilities of the human driller to perform specific activities with respect to time;
- based at least in part on the specified capabilities of the wellsite equipment and the specified capabilities of the human driller, determine activities for machine control via the wellsite equipment and activities for human driller control via the human driller and determine a level of detail of human executable well plan instructions for the human driller with respect to time that increases likelihood of execution by the human driller;
- based at least in part on the information, generate a well plan for drilling at least a portion of a wellbore according to the well trajectory in a period of time wherein the well plan comprises machine control well plan instructions for the activities for machine control via the wellsite equipment with respect to time and human executable well plan instructions for the activities for human driller control via the human driller with respect to time based on the determined level of detail;
- and
- output the well plan, wherein the well plan increases likelihood of success of performing the activities for machine control via the wellsite equipment and the activities for human driller control via the human driller.
One or more non-transitory computer-readable storage media comprising computer-executable instructions executable to instruct a computing system to:
- receive information that comprises well trajectory information for a well trajectory, wellsite equipment information for wellsite equipment and driller information for a human driller, wherein the wellsite equipment information specifies capabilities of the wellsite equipment to perform specific activities with respect to time, and wherein the driller information specifies capabilities of the human driller to perform specific activities with respect to time;
- based at least in part on the specified capabilities of the wellsite equipment and the specified capabilities of the human driller, determine activities for machine control via the wellsite equipment and activities for human driller control via the human driller and determine a level of detail of human executable well plan instructions for the human driller with respect to time that increases likelihood of execution by the human driller;
- based at least in part on the information, generate a well plan for drilling at least a portion of a wellbore according to the well trajectory in a period of time wherein the well plan comprises machine control well plan instructions for the activities for machine control via the wellsite equipment with respect to time and human executable well plan instructions for the activities for human driller control via the human driller with respect to time based on the determined level of detail;
- and
- output the well plan, wherein the well plan increases likelihood of success of performing the activities for machine control via the wellsite equipment and the activities for human driller control via the human driller.
