Abstract
A computer-implemented method is provided for determining a net throughput time between process steps of a process instance, wherein a processor is used for determining the net throughput time of the process instance in a calendar, in which a number of time intervals is stored, which are to be considered for the determination of the net throughput times, and the processor performs a matching procedure between the time specifications stored for the process steps and the time intervals stored in the calendar, wherein subsequently to the matching procedure, a net throughput time between two process steps is calculated.
Claims17
A computer-implemented method for determining a net throughput time between process steps of a process instance in a computer system having a processor, wherein during execution of real processes, process data is generated and is stored as a process protocol in a storage means of the computer system, wherein the storage means is coupled to the processor of the computer system operatively, wherein the process data comprises the process instance, wherein the process instance comprises a number of process steps comprising the process steps between which the net throughput time is determined, wherein for each process step, at least one unique identification of the process instance of the process step and a time specification are stored, wherein each process step is stored as data set in the process protocol according to a predetermined data structure, wherein the predetermined data structure comprises at least:
- a first attribute in which the unique identification of the process instance of the process step is stored,
- a second attribute, in which an identification of the process step is stored, and
- a third attribute, in which the time specification is stored, wherein the time specification indicates the sequence of the process steps within a process instance,
- wherein:
- the process step of the process instances, at first, are sorted according to the first attribute, and subsequently, according to the third attribute physically in the main memory, wherein the process step having the lowest time specification forms the first data set and the process step having the largest time specification forms the last data set, and wherein subsequent process steps of a process instance are stored in directly adjacent addresses of the storage means,
- the processor determines the net throughput time of the process instance using a calendar, in which a number of time intervals is stored, which are to be considered for the determination of the net throughput times, wherein the process steps are processed sequentially and in the correct order, and
- the processor performs a matching procedure between the time specifications stored for the process steps and the time intervals stored in the calendar, wherein subsequently to the matching procedure, a net throughput time between two process steps is calculated.
