Transforming data manipulation code into data workflow

A processor-implemented method for use at a computer system, the method comprising:

• training a machine learning algorithm to transform input executable code into a data workflow, the training based on sets of executable code and an expected data workflow associated with each set of executable code;
• accessing executable code configured to perform a data science process
• accessing detail settings indicating a level of detail, from among two or more levels of detail, associated with an intended target audience;
• transforming, using the trained machine learning algorithm, the executable code configured to perform the data science process into a data workflow documenting the data science process with the indicated level of detail;
• and
• outputting the data workflow.

A computer program product for use at a computer system, the computer program product comprising one or more hardware storage devices having stored thereon computer-executable instructions that, when executed by a processor, cause the computer system to perform the following:

• train a machine learning algorithm to transform input data manipulation code into a data workflow, the training based on sets of data manipulation code and an expected data workflow associated with the data manipulation code;
• access data manipulation code configured to perform a data science process;
• access detail settings indicating a level of detail, from among two or more levels of detail;
• transform, using the trained machine learning algorithm, the data manipulation code configured to perform the data science process into a data workflow documenting the data science process with the indicated level of detail;
• and
• output the data workflow.
