Abstract
A collaboration system including a spatial event map that can be published as an electronic document by a collaboration server and consumed by a consuming workstation. The electronic document is self-contained, and includes a viewer that has a module for rendering each of the graphical target types in the workspace onto a screen space. The system includes a server-side data processor that maintains the spatial event map which locates events in a workspace. The spatial event map includes a log of events, entries in the log having a location of a graphical target of the event in the workspace and a time.
Claims33
A system comprising a network node including memory and a processor, the network node being configured with logic to:
- store in memory accessible by the processor, a log of graphical objects, the graphical objects identified in the log having locations in a workspace;
- and
- invoke execution of a publish function, the publish function composing and storing an electronic document, the electronic document including:
- a set of graphical objects of the graphical objects identified in the log;
- first instructions executable by various computer devices, for displaying, on a display of a particular computer device having access to the electronic document, a graphical object of the set of graphical objects;
- and
- second instructions that, when executed on the particular computer device, produce a sequence of images to be rendered on the display of the particular computer device, the second instructions including:
- (a) determining a current viewport defining an area within the workspace;
- (b) identifying, for display, a graphical object of the set of graphical objects;
- (c) invoking the first instructions for displaying, on the display of the particular computer device, the graphical object identified in step (b) as a current image;
- and
- (d) changing the current viewport in response to user input and repeating steps (a) to (c).
An electronic document stored in a tangible non-transitory computer readable memory, the electronic document comprising:
- a set of graphical objects, the graphical objects in the set having locations in a workspace;
- first instructions executable by various computer devices, for displaying, on a display of a particular computer device having access to the electronic document, a graphical object of the set of graphical objects;
- and
- second instructions that, when executed on the particular computer device, produce a sequence of images to be rendered on the display of the particular computer device, the second instructions including:
- (a) determining a current viewport defining an area within a workspace;
- (b) identifying, for display, a graphical object of the set of graphical objects;
- (c) invoking the first instructions for displaying, on the display of the particular computer device, the graphical object identified in step (b) as a current image;
- and
- (d) changing the current viewport in response to user input and repeating steps (a) to (c).
A computer system including a network node, the network node comprising:
- a processor and memory;
- and
- an electronic document stored in the memory accessible by the processor, the electronic document including:
- a set of graphical objects, the graphical objects in the set having locations in a workspace;
- first instructions executable by various computer systems, for displaying, on a display of the computer system storing the electronic document, a graphical object of the set of graphical objects;
- and
- second instructions that, when executed by the processor of the computer system, produce a sequence of images to be rendered on the display of the computer system, the second instructions including:
- (a) determining a current viewport defining an area within a workspace;
- (b) identifying, for display, a graphical object of the set of graphical objects;
- (c) invoking the first instructions for displaying, on the display of the computer system, the graphical object identified in step (b) as a current image;
- and
- (d) changing the current viewport in response to user input and repeating steps (a) to (c).
