Abstract
The present invention discloses a process for the synthesis of aromatic carbamates from amine with dialkyl carbonate in the presence of binary or ternary mixed metal oxide catalyst. The present invention further discloses the yield of said aromatic carbamate in the range of 60 to 99%. Further, the ratio of amine to dialkyl carbonate is in the range of 1:2 to 1:30.
Claims10
A process for the synthesis of aromatic carbamate, the process comprising the step of reacting amine with dialkyl carbonate in the presence of a binary or ternary mixed metal oxide catalyst at a temperature in the range of 100 to 220° C. and for a period in the range of 1 to 15 hours to obtain corresponding aromatic carbamate, wherein yield of said aromatic carbamate is in the range of 60 to 99%.
