Extended depth of focus intraocular lens and associated methods

A method comprising:

• improving depth of focus in a first eye only by adding a higher order aberration (HOA) to the first eye by adding a monofocal optical device to the first eye, wherein the HOA is a longitudinal spherical aberration (LSA) and the LSA is less than or equal to 0 mm for all normalized radial distances;
• and
• correcting a spherical aberration in only a second eye by inserting a monofocal aspheric IOL into the second eye.
