Abstract
The disclosure relates to a drug delivery device having a drive unit includes a stator comprising a plurality of coils consecutively arranged in an axial direction, and an armature axially movable within the stator, the armature including a number of magnets and pole shoes consecutively arranged in the axial direction. A respective pole shoe is arranged between respectively neighbouring magnets. At least one axial end of the armature comprises a terminal pole shoe.
Claims15
A drug delivery device comprising:
- a cartridge comprising a body defining a chamber and a stopper slidably arranged within the chamber;
- and
- a drive unit comprising
- a stator comprising a plurality of coils consecutively arranged in an axial direction, and
- an armature axially movable within the stator and abutting the stopper, the armature comprising a plurality of magnets and a plurality of pole shoes consecutively arranged in the axial direction,
- wherein a respective pole shoe of the plurality of pole shoes is arranged between respectively neighboring magnets of the plurality of magnets,
- wherein an axial end of the armature comprises a terminal pole shoe, and
- wherein a magnetic permeability of one of the plurality of pole shoes differs from a magnetic permeability of the terminal pole shoe.
