Fuel dispenser door lock and alarm control

A door lock and alarm control kit, comprising:

• a controller configured to be mountable within a housing in a fuel dispenser;
• a first electronic door locking mechanism electrically coupled to the controller such that the controller is configured to cause the first electronic door locking mechanism to switch between a locked configuration, in which a first latch on the first electronic door locking mechanism is closed, and an unlocked configuration, in which the first latch on the first electronic door locking mechanism is open;
• a first door alarm sensor coupled to the controller and having a first component configured to be mountable in a fuel dispenser and a second component configured to be mountable on a first door of a fuel dispenser such that the first door alarm sensor can detect open and closed positions of the first door, the controller configured to move the first locking mechanism to the unlocked configuration and to de-activate the first door alarm sensor upon receipt of a first deactivation signal;
• a reader configured to receive user information from a portable access device;
• and
• a communication module operably coupled to the reader and to a network cloud, the communication module being configured to transmit the user information to the network cloud for comparison to pre-existing information on the network cloud, the communication module being configured to send the first deactivation signal to the controller when the user information matches the pre-existing information.
