Abstract

Flowline junction fittings are assembled to missiles of frac manifolds. The fittings have a body with a primary bore, at least four secondary bores, and a tertiary bore. The bores extend from union faces adapted for connection to flowline components by a flange union. The tertiary bore intersects with the primary bore at an angle of approximately 90°. Goat head fittings are assembled to well heads. The goat heads have a body with a primary bore and at least four secondary bores. The bores extend from union faces adapted for connection to flowline components by a flange union. The intersections between the secondary bores and the primary bore have an interior angle of substantially less than 90°.

Dependent claims

A flowline junction fitting adapted for use in a high-pressure frac system, said junction fitting comprising:

(a) a fitting body having a primary bore, at least four secondary bores, and a tertiary bore, said bores being adapted to conduct fluid through said fitting body;
(b) said primary bore extending axially through said body between first and second primary union faces adapted for connection to flowline components by a flange union;
(c) said secondary bores extending through said body from secondary union faces to intersections with said primary bore, said secondary union faces being adapted for connection to flowline components by flange unions;
(d) said tertiary bore extending through said body from a tertiary union face to an intersection with said primary bore, said tertiary union face being adapted for connection to a flowline component by a flange union;
(e) wherein said tertiary bore intersects with said primary bore at an angle of approximately 90°;
and
(f) wherein said secondary union face of at least one of said secondary bores extends in a first plane and said secondary union face of another one of said secondary bores extends in a second plane;
and
(g) wherein said tertiary union face of said tertiary bore extends in a third plane.
