Systems and methods for building and providing polymorphic REST services for heterogeneous repositories

A system, comprising:

• a processor;
• a non-transitory computer-readable medium;
• and
• stored instructions translatable by the processor for:
• receiving, from a client device, a request to access heterogeneous repositories communicatively connected to the system;
• responsive to receiving the request from the client device, querying a resource registry utilizing mapping information contained in the request, the mapping information including a resource defining repository scope;
• receiving, from the resource registry, a set of resource registry tables containing resources matching the resource defining repository scope, the set of resource registry tables implementing a resource registry model, the resource registry model having a unified data structure specifying a set of fields, the set of resource registry tables generated at runtime by the resource registry utilizing service configuration parameters, the set of resource registry tables having the unified data structure and containing service configuration parameter values in the set of fields;
• evaluating the set of resource registry tables iteratively until all the resources have been evaluated, the evaluating returning an evaluation result;
• and
• determining, based at least in part on the evaluation result, whether to reject, accept, or redirect the request from the client device.

A computer program product comprising a non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions translatable by a processor for:

• receiving, from a client device, a request to access heterogeneous repositories communicatively connected to the system;
• responsive to receiving the request from the client device, querying a resource registry utilizing mapping information contained in the request, the mapping information including a resource defining repository scope;
• receiving, from the resource registry, a set of resource registry tables containing resources matching the resource defining repository scope, the set of resource registry tables implementing a resource registry model, the resource registry model having a unified data structure specifying a set of fields, the set of resource registry tables generated at runtime by the resource registry utilizing service configuration parameters, the set of resource registry tables having the unified data structure and containing service configuration parameter values in the set of fields;
• evaluating the set of resource registry tables iteratively until all the resources have been evaluated, the evaluating returning an evaluation result;
• and
• determining, based at least in part on the evaluation result, whether to reject, accept, or redirect the request from the client device.
