Systems and methods for email tracking and email spam reduction using dynamic email addressing schemes

A system, comprising:

• circuitry for establishing an email redirection server configured for obfuscating an email address of a subscriber using a subdomain, the email redirection server associated with a particular parent domain;
• circuitry for receiving a request from a subscriber for a subscriber subdomain;
• circuitry for associating a subscriber subdomain with an email address of the subscriber, including at least generating, responsive to the received request, a child domain of the particular parent domain to be the subscriber subdomain assigned to the subscriber;
• circuitry for adding an MX record to an authoritative name server for the particular parent domain, the MX record associated with the child domain that is the subscriber subdomain assigned to the subscriber, the MX record facilitating handling by the email redirection server of email that includes the subscriber subdomain assigned to the subscriber as a domain part of a “to” address of the email;
• circuitry for storing the email address of the subscriber and the subscriber subdomain assigned to the subscriber that is identified by the MX record in a data store associated with the email redirection server;
• and
• circuitry for handling at least one email received by the email redirection server as a result of a name server lookup referencing the MX record, the at least one email including at least the subscriber subdomain assigned to the subscriber in the domain part of the “to” address of the at least one email.

An article of manufacture, comprising:

• at least one or more non-transitory computer-readable medium including at least:
• one or more instructions for establishing an email redirection server configured for obfuscating an email address of a subscriber using a subdomain, the email redirection server associated with a particular parent domain;
• one or more instructions for receiving a request from a subscriber for a subscriber subdomain;
• one or more instructions for associating a subscriber subdomain with an email address of the subscriber, including at least generating, responsive to the received request, a child domain of the particular parent domain to be the subscriber subdomain assigned to the subscriber;
• one or more instructions for adding an MX record to an authoritative name server for the particular parent domain, the MX record associated with the child domain that is the subscriber subdomain assigned to the subscriber, the MX record facilitating handling by the email redirection server of email that includes the subscriber subdomain assigned to the subscriber as a domain part of a “to” address of the email;
• one or more instructions for storing the email address of the subscriber and the subscriber subdomain assigned to the subscriber that is identified by the MX record in a data store associated with the email redirection server;
• and
• one or more instructions for handling at least one email received by the email redirection server as a result of a name server lookup referencing the MX record, the at least one email including at least the subscriber subdomain assigned to the subscriber in the domain part of the “to” address of the at least one email.
