Network traffic management for virtualized graphics devices

A method, comprising:

• performing, by one or more computing devices;
• re-establishing network accessibility, responsive to an interruption of a network connection, between a virtualized graphics device and an application compute instance via a virtual network interface of a routing device based at least in part on routing metadata, wherein:
• the network connection comprises a first network connection between the application compute instance and the virtual network interface of the routing device and a second network connection between the virtual network interface of the routing device and the virtualized graphics device;
• the routing metadata indicates that the virtual network interface is to be used to identify a route from the application compute instance to the virtualized graphics device;
• the interruption of the network connection comprises an interruption of either the first network connection or the second network connection;
• and
• the re-establishing accessibility comprises:
• restoring the interrupted network connection;
• and
• restoring accessibility from the application compute instance to the virtualized graphics device via the virtual network interface.

A non-transitory computer-accessible storage medium storing program instructions that when executed on one or more processors cause the one or more processors to perform:

• re-establishing network accessibility, responsive to an interruption of a network connection, between a virtualized graphics device and an application compute instance via a virtual network interface of a routing device based at least in part on routing metadata, wherein:
• the network connection comprises a first network connection between the application compute instance and the virtual network interface of the routing device and a second network connection between the virtual network interface of the routing device and the virtualized graphics device;
• the routing metadata indicates that the virtual network interface is to be used to identify a route from the application compute instance to the virtualized graphics device;
• the interruption of the network connection comprises an interruption of either the first network connection or the second network connection;
• and
• the re-establishing accessibility comprises:
• restoring the interrupted network connection;
• and
• restoring accessibility from the application compute instance to the virtualized graphics device via the virtual network interface.
