Abstract
An apparatus includes a first directional coupler, a second directional coupler, a first detector, and a second detector. A through port of the first directional coupler is coupled to a through port of the second directional coupler. An isolated port of the first directional coupler is coupled to an isolated port of the second directional coupler. A coupled port of the first directional coupler is coupled to the first detector. A coupled port of the second directional coupler is coupled to the second detector. A detected power signal is generated by combining an output of the first detector and an output of the second detector.
Claims19
A method to detect power, comprising:
- measuring, with a first detector, power at an output of a coupled line of a first directional coupler;
- measuring, with a second detector, power at an output of a coupled line of a second directional coupler;
- and
- detecting total power by combining the power measured by the first detector and the power measured by the second detector.
A power detector, comprising:
- a first detector;
- a first directional coupler, comprising:
- a through line having a radio frequency (RF) input port;
- and
- a coupled line having an output coupled to the first detector for generating a detected power signal;
- a second detector;
- and
- a second directional coupler, comprising:
- a through line having an RF input port;
- and
- a coupled line having an output coupled to the second detector for generating the detected power signal, wherein an output of the first detector and an output of the second detector are coupled together to generate the detected power signal.
