Abstract
According to one embodiment, there is provided an active material. The active material includes a composite oxide having an orthorhombic structure. The composite oxide is represented by the general formula Ti2(Nb1-xTax)2O9 (0≤x≤1). The composite oxide has an average valence of niobium and/or tantalum of 4.95 or more.
Claims19
An active material comprising:
- A) a composite oxide having an orthorhombic structure which is represented by the general formula Ti2(Nb1-xTax)2O9+δ (0<x≤1 and −0.3≤δ≤0.3) and has an average valence of niobium and/or tantalum from 4.95 to 5;
- and
- B) at least one selected from the group consisting of a composite oxide represented by the general formula H(Nb1-xTax)TiO5 (0<x≤1), a composite oxide represented by the general formula Ti(Nb1-xTax)2O7 (0<x≤1), and TiO2.
