Abstract
When a predetermined condition is satisfied, the gaming machine 1 replaces some of the plurality of reels 61 displayed on the display unit 27 with a special reel 62 having a symbol arrangement different from the reels 61 from when the reels 61 start to spin to when the game result is formed.
Claims11
A gaming machine comprising:
- an operation unit configured to receive an operation by a player;
- a display unit configured to display a plurality of first reels arranged in a plurality of rows and a plurality of columns;
- a memory device storing data associated with the plurality of first reels and a plurality of special reels, each of the first reels having a symbol arrangement constituted by predetermined symbols, each special reel being associated with one of the columns and having a different symbol arrangement;
- and
- a controller connected to the operation unit, the display unit, and the memory device, and configured to:
- form a combination of symbols as a game result by randomly selecting a stop position for each of the plurality of first reels and spinning and stopping the plurality of first reels on the display unit when the operation unit receives the operation by the player;
- in response to determining a predetermined condition is satisfied:
- select a plurality of first reels to be replaced by special reels, each special reel including a first reel strip displaying a plurality of first multiplier symbols associated with predetermined multiples;
- for each selected first reel, identify a column associated with the selected first reel and identify a corresponding special reel associated with the identified column;
- determine if the plurality of selected first reels to be replaced with the special reels are adjacent to each other;
- and
- upon determining the plurality of selected first reels are adjacent to each other:
- generate a large special reel including a second reel strip displaying a plurality of second multiplier symbols determined based on the predetermined multiples of each special reel;
- replace the plurality of selected first reels with the large special reel having the same size as that of the plurality of selected first reels;
- spin and stop the large special reel to form the game result;
- and
- provide an award for the formed game result.
A game providing method using a gaming machine including an operation unit configured to receive an operation by a player, a display unit configured to display a plurality of first reels arranged in a plurality of rows and a plurality of columns, a memory device storing data associated with the plurality of first reels and a plurality of special reels, each first reel having a symbol arrangement constituted by predetermined symbols, each special reel being associated with one of the columns and having a different symbol arrangement, and a controller connected to the operation unit, the display unit, and the memory device, the method including the controller performing the steps of:
- forming a combination of symbols as a game result by randomly selecting a stop position for each of the plurality of first reels and spinning and stopping the plurality of first reels on the display unit when the operation unit receives the operation by the player;
- and
- in response to determining a predetermined condition is satisfied:
- selecting a plurality of first reels to be replaced by special reels, each special reel including a first reel strip displaying a plurality of first multiplier symbols associated with predetermined multiples;
- for each selected first reel, identifying a column associated with the selected first reel and identify a corresponding special reel associated with the identified column;
- determining if the plurality of selected first reels to be replaced with the special reels are adjacent to each other;
- and
- upon determining the plurality of selected first reels are adjacent to each other:
- generating a large special reel including a second reel strip displaying a plurality of second multiplier symbols determined based on the predetermined multiples of each special reel;
- replacing the plurality of selected first reels with the large special reel having the same size as that of the plurality of selected first reels;
- spinning and stopping the large special reel to form the game result;
- and
- providing an award for the formed game result.
A non-transitory computer readable medium storing a program executed by a computer connected to an operation unit configured to receive an operation by a player and a display unit, wherein the program causes the computer to function as a controller configured to:
- display a plurality of first reels arranged in a plurality of rows and a plurality of columns on the display unit, each of the first reels having a symbol arrangement constituted by predetermined symbols;
- form a combination of symbols as a game result by randomly selecting a stop position for each of the plurality of first reels and spinning and stopping the plurality of first reels on the display unit when the operation unit receives the operation by the player;
- and
- in response to determining a predetermined condition is satisfied:
- select a plurality of first reels to be replaced by special reels, each special reel being associated with one of the columns and having a different symbol arrangement, each special reel including a first reel strip displaying a plurality of first multiplier symbols associated with predetermined multiples;
- for each selected first reel, identify a column associated with the selected first reel and identify a corresponding special reel associated with the identified column;
- determine if the plurality of selected first reels to be replaced with the special reels are adjacent to each other;
- and
- upon determining the plurality of selected first reels are adjacent to each other:
- generate a large special reel including a second reel strip displaying a plurality of second multiplier symbols determined based on the predetermined multiples of each special reel;
- replace the plurality of selected first reels with a large special reel having the same size as that of the plurality of selected first reels;
- spin and stop the large special reel to form the game result;
- and
- provide an award for the formed game result.
