Abstract
In some examples, a communications device includes a magnetic memory accessible by both a central processing unit and a digital signal processor to enable the central processing unit to assist the digital signal processor in establishing and maintaining a communication channel. The communication device is configured to re-establish communications in the event of an interruption in the communication channel or if the communication device experiences a power loss event.

A device comprising:
- a first processor, the first processor configured to run algorithms associated with each of a first communication network standard and a second communication network standard, the first communication network standard associated with a first communication network, and the second communication standard associated with a second communication network;
- a second processor, the second processor including a scheduler configured to perform task management for each of the first processor and the second processor, and the second processor configured to assist the first processor in running the algorithms;
- a bus configured to transfer data between each of the first processor and the second processor;
- at least one communication interface for communicating to each of the first communication network and the second communication network;
- a magnetic memory accessible by each of the first processor and the second processor, the magnetic memory configured to store communication parameters related to each of the first communication network standard and the second communication network standard;
- and
- a multiplexer coupled to the magnetic memory, the multiplexer configured to allow the first processor and the second processor to access the magnetic memory in parallel, and the device configured to utilize the communication parameters stored in the magnetic memory to switch a communication connection between each of the first communication network and the second communication network without undergoing a reset operation.
