Abstract
The nonvolatile memory module includes at least one nonvolatile memory device and a device controller configured to receive a storage command from an external device and to perform an operation corresponding to the received storage command. The device controller includes a random access memory (RAM). After completing the corresponding operation, the device controller stores status information in the RAM and then transmits an alert signal to the external device.
Claims20
A nonvolatile memory module comprising:
- a nonvolatile memory device;
- and
- a device controller configured to receive a random access memory (RAM) command, a RAM address, and a data signal including a storage command from an external device through a double data rate (DDR) interface, store the storage command in a command area of a RAM of the device controller in response to the RAM command and the RAM address, and control the nonvolatile memory device in response to the storage command stored in the RAM,
- wherein the device controller comprises an error correction code (ECC) engine configured to detect an error of the storage command,
- the device controller is further configured to transmit an alert signal to the external device, in response to detecting by the ECC engine the error of the storage command.
An operation method of a nonvolatile memory device, which comprises a nonvolatile memory device and a device controller controlling the nonvolatile device, the method comprising:
- receiving a random access memory (RAM) command, a RAM address, and a data signal including a storage command from an external device through a double data rate (DDR) interface;
- storing the storage command in a RAM of the device controller, in response to the RAM command and the RAM address;
- performing an error detecting and correcting operation on an error of the storage command stored in the RAM;
- and
- transmitting an alert signal to the external device according to a result of the error detecting and correcting operation,
- wherein if the error of the storage command is not detected, the device controller performs a storage operation on the nonvolatile memory device corresponding to the storage command.
A nonvolatile memory module comprising:
- a nonvolatile memory device;
- a controller configured to control the nonvolatile memory device;
- a random access memory (RAM) device;
- and
- a RAM controller configured to receive a RAM command and a RAM address from an external device, and store, in a command area of the RAM, a storage command provided through a data signal from the external device,
- wherein the controller is further configured to read the storage command from the RAM, and perform an error detecting and correcting operation on the storage command, and transmit an alert signal to the external device according to a result of the error detecting and correcting operation,
- wherein when an error of the storage command is not detected by the error detecting and correcting operation or an error of the storage command is corrected by the error detecting and correcting operation, the controller performs a storage operation on the nonvolatile memory device cone sponding to the storage command.
