Wind tunnel wake generator

A method for generating a wake in a wind tunnel, comprising:

• aligning a wake generator in a wind tunnel between a wind source and a test object, with a first side of the wake generator facing the wind source and a second side of the wake generator facing the test object;
• moving a plurality of bars of the wake generator in a first track defining a predetermined pattern, the predetermined pattern selected to mitigate a reverse wake created by the plurality of bars at the first side of the wake generator and to generate a predetermined wake by the plurality of bars at the second side of the wake generator, wherein the first track on the first side of the wake generator is circular and the second side of the first track is flat;
• and pivoting each of the plurality of bars while moving in the predetermined pattern, wherein the plurality of bars are parallel to the first track on the second side of the wake generator.
