Abstract
The present invention relates to the use of the miRNA expression profile, particularly of miR-199a-5p, and the target genes regulated thereby for the diagnosis, prognosis and use of miR-199a-5p inhibitors for treating fibroproliferative disorders.
Claims5
A method of treating a subject having a fibroproliferative disorder comprising
- administering to the subject a miR-199a-5p inhibitor,
- wherein the fibroproliferative disorder is idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, and
- wherein the miR-199a-5p inhibitor is a DNA analogue or an oligomer, and
- wherein the DNA analogue or the oligomer consists of a contiguous sequence of 7 to approximately 23 nucleotides in length and inhibits the activity of miR-199a-5p.
