Abstract
The present invention is directed to compositions including the cytokines IL-18 and IL-22 or biologically active fragments or variants thereof. In some embodiments, the compositions further include a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier. The compositions can further include other interleukins such as IL-1β, and IL 1β can be used as a combination therapy with either IL-18 or IL-22 or biologically active fragments or variants thereof.
Claims5
A pharmaceutical composition comprising a synergistic amount of an interleukin-18 (IL-18) and an interleukin 22 (IL-22), and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, wherein the IL-18 consists of a sequence that is at least 95% identical to the sequence of the wild-type human IL-18 and the IL-22 consists of a sequence that is at least 95% identical to the sequence of the wild-type human IL-22;
- and wherein the synergy is determined relative to the ability of the individual interleukins to modify rotavirus shedding.
