Abstract
Compositions and methods are for combating inflammatory disease and particularly for use in feed or food compositions for preventing, reducing and/or treating inflammatory disorders, diseases, or discomforts. The compositions include at least one specific pectin.
Claims8
A method for reducing symptoms of and/or ameliorating immune-mediated diseases or inflammatory diseases in a patient in need thereof, comprising daily administering a composition to the patient, wherein the composition comprises an effective dose of between 0.01 and 5 g per kg body weight of an esterified pectin or a mixture of esterified pectins, and wherein the esterified pectin has or the esterified pectins in the mixture have a degree of esterification (DE) of higher than 0% and less than or equal to 33%.
