Abstract
The present invention provides a method for ameliorating or treating inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and/or irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), comprising administering extracellular vesicles derived from Kefir grains in a mammal in need thereof. The present invention also provides a pharmaceutical composition for ameliorating or treating IBD and/or IBS or a functional food composition for ameliorating or improving IBD and/or IBS, comprising said extracellular vesicles derived from Kefir grains as an active ingredient.

A method for ameliorating or treating inflammatory bowel disease and/or irritable bowel syndrome in a mammal in need thereof, comprising administering to the mammal a therapeutically effective amount of an isolated extracellular vesicles derived from one or more Kefir grains selected from the group consisting of Lactobacillus kefiranofaciens, Lactobacillus kefiri, and Lactobacillus kefirgranum, wherein the isolated extracellular vesicles are in the form of exosomes having a diameter ranging from 30 to 300 nm, thereby ameliorating or treating inflammatory bowel disease and/or irritable bowel syndrome in said mammal in need thereof.
