Abstract
An electronic cigarette particularly adaptable to vaporize liquid material also having exhale filter function is disclosed herein. The exhale function is useful to prevent second hand smoke in an enclosed environment, for example. An innovative diverter valve assembly comprises a unique duckbill valve configuration diverting air through a cooker chamber and into a mouthpiece in an inhale function and diverting exhaled air around the cooker chamber in the exhale function and through a filter assembly. A preferred embodiment further introduces a unique shape to the smoking instrument being elliptical in the cross-section and tapering to proximal and distal ends.
Claims12
An electronic cigarette comprising:
- a mouthpiece configured to a cooker chamber containing heated material;
- an after body portion configured to the cooker chamber wherein an electric heating element is provided to heat said heated material;
- a battery configured inside the after body portion providing current to the electric heating element;
- an igniter button for actuating said electric current;
- and
- a diverter valve for allowing air flow through the cooker chamber in an inhale function and for blocking air flow through the cooker chamber in an exhale function, the diverter valve further comprising:
- a duck bill valve configuration including a pair of flaps meeting at a ridge, the flaps further extending to a cylindrical base the cylindrical base extending outwardly and forming an exhale flap, the exhale flap being a check valve in the exhale function.
An electronic cigarette comprising:
- a mouthpiece configured to a cooker chamber containing heated material;
- an after body portion coupled to the cooker chamber wherein an electric heating element is provided to heat said heated material;
- a battery configured inside the after body portion providing current to the electric heating element;
- and
- a diverter valve for allowing air flow through the cooker chamber in an inhale function and for blocking air flow through the cooker chamber in an exhale function, the diverter valve further comprising a dual duck valve configuration wherein a first pair of flaps meet at a center forming a ridge and wherein second and third pairs of flaps are on lateral sides of the first pair of flaps, wherein the first pair of flaps are open for the inhale function, wherein the first pair of flaps remain shut for the exhale function, wherein the second and third pairs of flaps are shut for the inhale function, and wherein the second and third pairs of flaps remain open for the exhale function.
