Antifoam molecules containing a silica moiety and compositions

A molecule having the formula

• [R1R2R3SiO1/2](j+2l+2)[R4R5SiO2/2]m[R6SiO3/2]j[SiO4/2]l
• wherein:
• a) j is an integer from 0 to 150;
• b) m is an integer from 0 to 1500;
• c) 1 is an integer from 0 to 150, preferably from 0 to 150;
• with the provisio j+m+1 equals an integer greater than or equal to 1 and at least one of the moieties R1 through R6=X—Z;
• d) each of R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 and R6 moiety is independently selected from the group consisting of H, OH, C1-C32 alkyl, C1-C32 substituted alkyl, C6-C32 aryl, C5-C32 substituted aryl, C6-C32 alkylaryl, C6-C32 substituted alkylaryl, C1-C32 alkoxy and C1-C32 substituted alkoxy and X—Z, preferably each R1-6 is independently selected from the group consisting of OH, C1-C12 alkyl, C1-C12 substituted alkoxy, C1-C12 substituted alkoxy and X—Z;
• e) each X is oxygen and
• f) each Z is silica moiety, preferably said silica moiety is an agglomerate, preferably said particle or agglomerate has a particle size (d50) from about 0.1 microns to about 250 microns;
• wherein said silica comprises a moiety selected from the group consisting of
• —OSi(R7)3 wherein for said —OSi(R7)3 each R7 is
• independently C1-C22 alkyl group and/or C1-C22 substituted alkyl;
• —OH;
• and mixtures thereof.
